About the Book

Stephanie took part in Veganuary, the month-long global challenge to try veganism, for January 2019. In Finally a Vegan she describes how her changing attitudes to animal welfare and exploitation led her from staunch omnivore to vegetarianism in the preceding years. She recalls her excitement at taking part in the challenge itself and shares her daily food diary, failures as well as triumphs.

Drawing on her post-Veganuary experiences, Stephanie then responds to the common questions But isn't it expensive? But surely it isn't healthy? and But what about my boots? before honestly asking herself How vegan do I want to be?

Ideal for vegan-curious readers, Finally a Vegan is an insightful memoir inspired by one life-changing month.

10% of Finally A Vegan profits will be donated to vegan projects and charities.

My Review

Finally a Vegan Shares the Author's Real-Life Experiences with her Lifestyle Change. As Stephanie details her excitement with embarking on a January vegan living challenge, she shares her food diaries and her personal challenges and successes as she adapts to and fully adopts a vegan lifestyle. For readers interested in a realistic view of the changes and challenges of adopting a vegan lifestyle--Stephanie covers a lot of experiences in this short, easy-to-follow book.

Readers will Find More than a Memoir -Like Diary of Events. While the author certainly shares her stories of becoming and living vegan--she gives readers recipes, tips, and insights into the challenges and rewards of the lifestyle and books and resources that she has learned from along the way. Finally a Vegan may encourage readers to adopt a vegan lifestyle even if to a more minor degree than a full vegan--or it may give readers the urge to pursue the lifestyle full-force. The author writes honestly and openly as she shares her experiences.

Would I Recommend Finally a Vegan by Stephanie Jane? I enjoyed reading Stephanie's stories and learning from her insights into her vegan lifestyle. While I realize that a fully vegan journey is not for me, the book has given some ideas and recipes for making some occasional lifestyle changes without breaking my schedule or budget. If you are considering veganism, I think Finally a Vegan makes a great starting point to explore the lifestyle through Stephanie's first-hand accounts and experiences. I would recommend Finally a Vegan to anyone interested in becoming a vegan or supporting a friend or family member as they pursue a vegan lifestyle.

Meet the Author

Reader, wanderer, vegan.

Stephanie Jane has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember. She loves discovering new authors from all around the world and is happiest when engrossed in a compelling novel with tea and cake to hand.

Raised in Sussex, England, Stephanie developed a wanderlust in her late twenties. She spends her time exploring the UK and Western Europe with her partner, setting out on foot or bicycle from their almost-vintage motorhome, and firmly believes everywhere has something worth seeing if we slow down enough to appreciate its smallest details.

Stephanie has been vegan since 2019 and strives to incorporate zero waste ideals into her life. She enjoys browsing vintage clothing shops and would collect antique kitchenware if she ever again lives in a house with enough space.
