 About the Book

At the turn of the next century, a corporate oligarchy rules America with an iron fist. Commercial jingles have replaced the Top Forty, babies come from factories, and the race captivating the nation isn’t between political candidates. It’s the cutthroat competition to find the formula for No-Sog Stay-Crisp Cornflakes.

The battle pits cereal titan Todd Swindell, head of Flakes Alive Incorporated, against Chad Scandalman of the Great American Flake Company. When Scandalman hires a diminutive assassin named Twinkle to bump off his rival’s top chemist, it sparks a war of the flakes that makes the bloody feud of York and Lancaster look tame by comparison.

But not everyone in the Cornflake capital of Domino, Indiana, is happy with the status quo. Ziggie Wexler, an unemployed pipefitter and all-around average Joe, knows that something is deeply wrong with his country.

All history prior to 2040 has been banned, but old-timers whisper about the days when people still voted for their leaders. After Ziggie posts fiery polemics against the state to the Clandestine Journal, he becomes a marked man. But in a world built on lies, there’s one truth he’s sure of. Somebody needs to fight back.

About the Author

Retired IT professional, James Owens is a trained computer engineer and technical documentation specialist who earned an A.A.S. in computer programming and a B.A. in English from Purdue University.

Immensely curious about human behavior, James spent the 1970s hanging out on the streets to observe people, many of whom became inspirations for his fictional characters. Later, he worked in cube farms at conservative insurance companies, where the idiosyncrasies of corporate personalities sparked his imagination.

James has spent the last decade reading and writing offbeat fiction about bizarre protagonists. Corporate Almighty: 2098, a dystopian tale about the rise of the corporation and the fall of democracy, follows his first two novels, Animal Candy and Pods of Bubbledumb: A Study in Mass Depravity.

Born and raised in an industrial suburb on the south edge of Chicago, James lives with his wife Sue and four cats in Evansville, Indiana.

Satire Book Blitz: Great Exploitations - A Hollywood Fable by K.R. Levin

They say Hollywood runs on dreams and delusion—but K.R. Levin’s Great Exploitations: A Hollywood Fable reminds us it also runs on equal parts caffeine, chaos, and questionable morals. With razor-sharp wit and insider precision, Levin peels back the studio gloss to reveal the absurdity lurking beneath the “magic” of television. This isn’t your typical Tinseltown tale—it’s a biting, hilarious fable about ambition, burnout, and the cost of chasing relevance in a world that worships youth and ratings above all else.

About the Book

Hollywood is brutal, especially for an aging TV writer who is not connecting with her audience. Unemployed Charlotte DeBlane finds herself at precisely that moment until she turns her tragic youth into a sparkly tweenaged dramedy.

The legendary Fable Studios snaps up her project as a vehicle for their newest hot starlet, Milary Stanton. Despite a tsunami of production nightmares, the show becomes a smash hit.

When the disappearance of an essential crew member wreaks of corporate foul play, Charlotte finds her dream job turned into a nightmare. Ultimately, the inevitable forces of money, power, and talent collide, forcing Charlotte to choose where her future leads.

K.R. has been working in Hollywood for more than four decades. Some of his early credits include special effects on Mystic Pizza, and Leadman on Breakin 2 is Electric Boogaloo. He also worked on the original Lizzie McGuire and went on to prop master many kids’ shows, from Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide to Wizards of Waverly Place and Lab Rats. About the Book

Who murdered the mascot and spokes-bear of the world’s most successful foreign language app? Was it an executive, employee, investor, lover, or one of the company’s animated instructors – endearing cartoon personalities invested with the power of Artificial Intelligence? What began as a chain novel prompt along the lines of “It was a dark and stormy night” on a language app fan site morphed into a full-fledged novel and parody by the prize-winning author of Cooperative Lives. The story originally appeared online in thirteen riveting installments but is now expanded and available in book format in both English and German as the definitive parody, page turner, and murder mystery for anyone who has ever studied language with a cast of digital cartoon characters and an anthropomorphic mascot.

About the Author

He worked more than thirty years in law, corporate finance, management consulting and risk management. He has a wife and grown daughter and is an avid student of foreign languages. About the Book

The introduction of a successful vaccine against Covid has produced the unintended side effect of rendering all gunpowder in the world inert. Every weapon from a six-shooter to an atom bomb is now useless. However, on a fifty-seven-acre island in the middle of the Doubs River that divides France and Switzerland, a dairy farmer's prized cheese spread has gone into short supply and the world is about to go to war over its loss.

“Boulong's Cheese” is spitfire humor, biting satire, and just what the world needs now that the end of the pandemic is in sight. It pits the Queen of England against the new, bald President of the United States, and gives the Pope a way out of an embarrassing video. All the while, Boulong, the producer of the world’s most desired dairy products, tries to deal with his pregnant girlfriend and missing son.

About the Author

Ricky Ginsburg is one of those writers who sees a flock of birds heading south for the winter and wonders what they talk about on their journey. His portfolio consists of nearly 400 short stories, more than half of which have found their way into various magazines, both paper and electronic, and seven novels, half by Black Rose Writing and the other half self-published. While much of his writing has elements of magical realism and humor, he also has a serious side, but keeps it in a small plexiglass box under his desk.
